Project Description
Swietelsky Rail Australia (SRA) has been the exclusive provider of mechanised ballast cleaning services for the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC)'s Heavy Haul Hunter Valley network since 2014.
During a demanding 72-hour closedown, the SRA team successfully delivered over 5.5km of ballast cleaning on a 20km project site near Boggabri, NSW. This effort included the installation of more than 9,600 tonnes of new ballast and the resurfacing of 20km of track, complete with dynamic stabilisation to enable track handback at line speed.
In addition, SRA completed 6km of critical drainage improvements and spoil management works. The ballast cleaning scope was finished ahead of schedule, and the site was handed back incident-free with time to spare.
